Reading the Tide

A tide periodically sweeps across the map from a set direction. These events are telegraphed, giving a short window to reposition. Higher ground and pre-placed structures offer protection. As the game progresses, the timing and strength of each tide increase, demanding constant awareness and adaptability. Success depends on reading the environment and planning escape routes before the water rises.

Building the Safe Zone

Collected blocks can be exchanged for special items that form the foundation of a safe zone. These items are placed on the map to create barriers, elevated platforms, or storage areas. As the safe zone grows, it can hold more items, which in turn allows for more elaborate defenses. The building system encourages creative layouts, as each placement affects future tide paths and resource access.

Long-Term Progression

Between runs, players can invest gathered resources into permanent upgrades that improve gathering speed, structure durability, or tide warning time.
